The WP-22R is Balwaan's 7 HP petrol water pump with a 2 inch inlet and outlet. It moves up to 1,000 litres a minute, lifts water 30 metres, and pulls from 8 metres down. The 4-stroke engine runs on straight petrol at 3600 RPM, so the pump works wherever you can carry a can of fuel.
What Is the Balwaan 7 HP Water Pump Used For?
Moving large volumes of water quickly, away from a power connection. On farms that means field irrigation from a well, canal or tank. On construction sites it means dewatering foundations and trenches after rain. Hotels and resorts use it for supply and tank filling, and forest or remote-area operations use it where there is no grid at all. Anywhere the job is volume rather than fine pressure, this is the pump class.
Key Features of This 4 Stroke Water Pump
The build is deliberately plain, which is what keeps it serviceable in the field.
7 HP 4-stroke petrol engine, no fuel mixing
Recoil starter, so no battery to go flat
2 inch inlet and outlet for high-volume flow
High-quality robust frame that takes being loaded and unloaded daily
Around 20 kg, one person can shift it between plots
Free 1 litre of engine oil included with purchase
Engine Power and Discharge Performance
The engine turns at 3600 RPM and delivers a maximum discharge of 1,000 litres per minute through the 2 inch outlet. Maximum head is 30 metres, roughly 98 feet, which is the vertical height it can push water to. Maximum suction is 8 metres, about 26 feet, which is how far below the pump the water source can sit. Both numbers fall as pipe length and bends increase, so plan for less than the rated figure on a long run. For a 3 inch outlet and higher flow, compare the WP-33R water pump.
Fuel Efficiency and Runtime
Fuel consumption is 800 ml an hour. That is the number to use when you are comparing running costs against a diesel or electric set: multiply 0.8 litres by your local petrol rate for an hourly figure, then by the hours your irrigation cycle actually takes. Because it is 4-stroke, petrol goes straight into the tank with no oil pre-mixing, which removes the most common cause of engine damage on petrol machines.
Where the WP-22R 7 HP Water Pump Is Used
Field irrigation is the everyday use: lifting from a well or canal and running it out to the crop. On construction sites, the same pump clears standing water from excavations and basements, where a fixed electric set is impractical. Hotels, resorts and institutions use it for tank filling and backup supply. In forest and remote areas it works simply because it needs no grid. For debris-laden water with mud and small solids, a 3x3 inch trash pump is the right tool instead, since a clean-water impeller will clog.
Benefits of Choosing a 7 HP Petrol Water Pump
A petrol water pump lets you irrigate land that has no electricity connection, and finish the job faster.
Water more land in a day, because 1,000 litres a minute fills channels faster than a smaller pump
Irrigate plots with no power connection, so you skip the cost and wait of getting a line laid
Start work the moment you arrive, since the recoil starter needs no battery and no warm-up
Shift the pump yourself between plots at 20 kg, instead of paying a second person to help lift it
Run a full irrigation cycle without stopping, because the 4-stroke engine is built for long hours
Spend less on repairs, as filling straight petrol removes the mixing error that wrecks 2-stroke engines
How to Start and Maintain Your Water Pump
Do not start a new engine on your own. Engines ship without oil. Read the manual and call Balwaan support to arrange a technical walkthrough first.
Fill engine oil to the mark, then fill the fuel tank with clean petrol.
Prime the pump casing with water before every first start. Running dry damages the seal.
Check that suction and delivery pipes are tight and the foot valve is clear.
Pull the recoil starter with a firm, steady stroke.
After use, drain the casing, and check oil level and the air filter routinely.
